Heavy Metal does Not equal suicide
Overview
To prove that heavy metal music does not cause one to commit suicide it is essential to include a comparison to other musical genres, study known factors of suicide to determine if heavy metal music is related, analyze the effect of stereotypes, and research the results of court cases. Every topic has its own page in order to fully develop each idea. The main articles used for support include: "Genre of Music and Lyrical Content: Expectation Effects" by Mary E. Ballard, Alan R. Dodson, and Doris G. Bazzini, "Heavy Metal Music and Adolescent Suicidal Risk" by Eric Lacourse, Michel Claes, and Martine Villeneuve, and "Metal Music and Mental Health in France" by Robin Recours, Francois Aussaguel, and Nick Trujillo. Finally, the 1985 PMRC hearings and other heavy metal cases will be studied to discover whether or not heavy metal music causes someone to resort to suicide.
